Comedian Paul Chowdhry has paid tribute to his beloved mum as he announced on Twitter that she has died of coronavirus.

Paul , 46, appeared to suggest that his mum had been denied the Covid vaccine as he told followers she was 'turned down' for the jab despite being in a 'high-risk group' and caring for his elderly father as he underwent radiation treatment.

Speaking out about his loss, Paul shared that he and the rest of his family were now 'mourning the loss of their queen'.

"Tragically for her, and us, she was unnecessarily refused [the vaccine]," he added.

Paul then urged the government to prioritise all those 'at risk' rather than ask them to wait in line.Paul spoke of his 'mum' in the post, but previously spoke of his biological mum's death in an interview in 2019.

Taking to Twitter , be began: "My mum being able to light up a room is an understatement, she was much funnier than me. A former headmistress in Bombay, holder of a masters in both English, and in Music and Sitar, a natural genius chef, a feminist, an incredible mother, wife, daughter, sibling, to name just a few.'

"My family are not anti-vaxxers; neither are most people I know from the 'BAME' community. In fact, I know more non-Asian anxi-vaxxers. And we are all seen as 'BAME', we are not! We are different ethnicities and religions; we are mothers, daughters, husbands, brothers, sons and much more than this catch-all label.

"My mum was turned down for the vaccine when she asked, despite being in a what the government classed as a high risk group, as well as caring for my elderly father [Darshan Chowdrey] during radiation treatment.

"Tragically for her, and us, she was unnecessarily refused, and now my family and I mourn the moss of our queen."
